Mission for the Persimmon Hill Calls Prostaff members
We are a group of dedicated men who are passionate about the outdoors and enjoy hunting various wild game, especially the Wild Turkey. It is our desire to promote conservation throughout our regions and to assist local NWTF chapters when needed. When requested and approved, calls will be donated to each NWTF Chapter for their annual banquet silent auctions. We will also assist chapters with any event that involves kids, as that is our primary goal……to get more kids involved in the outdoors. Even though we are a small company we have big hearts and a huge desire to teach kids the value of being outdoors. Persimmon Hill Calls Prostaff members are seasoned veterans when it comes to turkey hunting and has a combined 150 years of experience hunting the Wild Turkey. Jim has been hunting the wild turkey for 30 years and is a skilled outdoorsman. After serving 20 years in the US Army, Jim decided to start making turkey calls in 1997. Since that time he has won numerous local and national awards. But more important than awards, is the pleasure he gets out of making great hunting calls. He has sold clients various calls in 30 states. Take a look at the testimonials page to get a flavor of what hunter’s think of Jim’s calls. Jim loves the Lord and his family and is an active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lugoff SC.
Mike is an avid outdoorsman and knows how to hunt the elusive wild turkey. Jim met Mike at Blaney Baptist Church in Elgin, SC several years ago. They quickly became best friends. Mike is a retired US Army Master Sergeant and belonged to the elite Rangers. Mike helps Jim make his award winning turkey calls and is in charge of sales. Mike is a christian and belongs to Blaney Baptist church where he’s served as deacon and is currently appointed as a trustee. Like Jim, he loves spending time with the grandkids.
Andrew is the son of Mike Irvin, and is a dedicated member of the Persimmon Hill Call team. I depend a lot on Andrew and he has become an integral part of Persimmon Hill Calls. I’ve watched Andrew grow into becoming a skilled hunter and outdoorsman but more importantly a loving Father and husband. great Dad.
Matt Schwartz with his Dad and wife. I’ve known Matt and his family for a long time. These are some of the finest folks I‘ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. As ole country boys, Matt and I share a lot of things in common, and turkey hunting is near the top of that list. Matt is not only a personal friend of mine he is one of the best hunters and woodsman I’ve ever known. He is a turkey killing machine. Once Matt fills his turkey tags he’s always made himself available to guide for others. He is passionate about kids that want to learn about turkey hunting. He’s taken many a youth hunting during youth weekend and will be filming my grandson during youth day 2016. Matt’s wife Brandy is an avid hunter also, and also enjoys the outdoors. They have two little Jakes, Jackson who turned two April 2015 and they just added their second little Jake, Jhett who was born August 2015.
I have known this young man since he was a little boy. His PawPaw and I are great friends and belonged to the same church for years. McCray is an avid outdoorsman and loves turkey hunting. He is woods wise beyond his years. He worked with us in Nashville 2024 and got to meet some of his hunting heroes like Michael Waddell. Like Andrew, he feels like a son to be. He is a valuable member of our team.
John Wayne loves his family and the great outdoors. He is one of the best woodsmen I’ve ever known. His knowledge of hunting and his friendship is what led me to ask him to be part of the Persimmon Hill Call ProStaff Team. We love this guy and his family. His motto is “Doing what we love and loving what we do”. Welcome aboard my friend.
I’ve known Kelly for almost 25 years. He is an avid outdoorsman and one of the best woodsman I’ve ever known. He only started turkey hunting a few years back and it didn’t take him long to get hooked. He’s very active in his local NWTF Chapter and works hard promoting conservation.. Kelly is a retired US Army Master Sergeant and an Iraq war veteran where Kelly earned the bronze star, the 4th highest award given in the US Army. I’m honored to have him as one of my Pro Staff but more importantly as a friend.
